About CraftsCall
Independent buying guides for craft machines: printers and heat presses for shirts, tumblers and hats, sergers and heavy-duty sewing machines, longarm quilting machines, knitting machines, tufting guns and looms.
Why this site exists
Craft machines are sold on photos and bundle lists, while the details that decide whether one fits your work sit in spec sheets, manuals and the transfer makers' application charts: the platen size, the print width, the throat space, the thread count, what the warranty covers and what else you must buy. We read those, put the numbers side by side, and say which machine fits which kind of maker and why.
What we cover
- Printers. DTF, UV DTF and sublimation printers: print width, ink, the powder and curing step, and the real start-up list.
- Heat presses. Flat, tumbler, mug and hat presses by platen size, press style and power, with the transfer makers' settings.
- Print shop tools. Button makers, screen printing presses and cutting machines for shirt and badge sellers.
- Sergers and sewing. Sergers, coverstitch machines, and machines rated for leather, canvas and upholstery.
- Quilting machines. Frame longarms, sit-down longarms and large-harp sewing machines, by throat space and room size.
- Knitting and weaving. Knitting machines, rug tufting guns and rigid heddle looms, and what each one can make.
How the guides are made
Guides are researched and written with the help of AI tools, working from the documents listed at the end of each page: maker spec sheets and manuals, standards and government pages, and owner reports. Figures are checked against those sources, and a guide names its source when a number comes from somewhere other than the maker. The full process is on our methodology page.
If you find a mistake, write to info@craftscall.com. Corrections are made on the page and the updated date changes.
How the site is paid for
Product links go to Amazon, or to the maker's own store for brands that sell only direct. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you; a link to a maker's store earns us nothing. No brand pays for a place in a guide, sends us its picks, or sees a guide before it is published.
